Professional groups are the way that RICS segments the various technical specialisms of the profession. In total there are 17 groups covering the broad spectrum of surveying services.
There are a number of ways you can get more involved with your professional group to receive the above benefits:
RICS has developed an Insight Community to facilitate conversations and connections across Professional Groups. The discussions on this community platform will shape future standards, guidance and technical content. It will also help influence future pathways and competences for entry into the profession and contribute policy and product development. This is currently being piloted with a view to a full roll-out in early 2020.
RICS regularly holds leader forums or roundtables bringing the profession and wider market together to discuss key issues that will provide insight that ultimately shapes future standards, guidance and technical content.
RICS is always looking for potential contributors to technical content either through standards working groups or writing technical guidance. If you feel you have expertise to offer then please get in touch.
RICS has a number of specialist sector forums covering Building Conservation, Dilapidations, Infrastructure, Insurance and Telecoms. These forums connect the professional membership with the wider market.
